The WoW-streamer Asmongold accuses the streaming platform Twitch of double standards. While men face harsh penalties for violations on Twitch, female streamers get away with a lot. This is not right and creates an “anti-women” sentiment on Twitch.
This bothers Asmongold: Streamer Asmongold is particularly annoyed about the treatment of streamer Jenelle “Indiefoxx” Dagres.
The streamer has now received a “3-day ban” from Twitch four times. The last 3-day ban she received was for “selling Twitch services or features”.
According to Twitch rules, for example, it is prohibited to offer viewers to make them moderators for donations. Indiefoxx had a promotion running in her stream where viewers could become “VIPs” for 100 subs and receive a special mark.
Apparently, Twitch sees this as a rule violation that results in a 3-day ban.

For Asmongold, this punishment is far too lenient. Especially when compared to how Twitch dealt with the Swedish streamer Forsen. Forsen briefly displayed a pornographic image in a stream, as he fell for a chat troll, and was permanently banned from Twitch. Only after a revolt from the fans did Twitch allow him back on after a month.
Others who receive 4 bans in such a short time would be simply removed from the platform:
“If Forsen had done what Indiefoxx did, Twitch wouldn’t just ban Forsen, they would find a way to shoot him to the moon! They would ban him from the Earth.”
Asmongold
Asmongold says: After her ban, Indiefoxx goes on to publicly state that she is now streaming on “OnlyFans” – this clearly violates her Twitch partner contract. But that doesn’t concern Twitch. Nothing happens.
“Twitch creates an anti-women sentiment”
What Asmongold fears: The WoW streamer says that with this clear inequality of treatment between men and women, Twitch indirectly promotes an “anti-women” sentiment on Twitch.
This is simply unfair and not right how Twitch behaves here. Everyone should be treated fairly and equally. Even if this inequality affects only a few people, it has an impact on the entire community, as it creates the sentiment: “Some get away with everything.”
Asmongold says: He actually doesn’t want to discuss this topic, as it attracts the wrong clientele: men who hate women. He wants nothing to do with that.
He states: Some men on the internet have the same relationship with women as Gollum has with the One Ring. When they don’t have it, they desperately want it. Once they have it, they hate it. They are just permanently angry.
But no one talks about the inequality between men and women on Twitch for fear of being “canceled.” Therefore, it is up to him to address it. The situation is simply embarrassing for Twitch.
Twitch has a ban problem, not a “women vs. men” problem
What’s behind it: Asmongold strongly refers to man vs. woman. In fact, female streamers are often banned for trivial reasons – especially smaller female streamers feel unfairly treated and targeted by trolls.
However, it is also not the case that Twitch only permanently bans “small streamers” and always lets the big ones go: Even big streamers suddenly receive permanent bans for “actually small offenses“, while small female streamers get away with blatant misconduct.
The ban policy of Twitch simply seems strange and arbitrary overall.
The phenomenon of big streamers being permanently banned and then unbanned because their community goes into uproar contributes to the impression that Twitch does not follow a clear line in its bans.
