During a livestream for Alpha 0 of the upcoming MMORPG Ashes of Creation, the developers revealed interesting things about the game.
Ashes of Creation is certainly one of the more interesting MMORPGs currently in development. Many players are already curious about how Ashes of Creation feels and whether the MMORPG is actually fun. Since December 15, family members and friends of the developers can take the first steps in an early version of the online game.

Classes determine skills but not the weapons
There was also a livestream showing how Ashes of Creation currently looks and how it plays. During this livestream, the developers talked about the MMORPG: about character creation, for example.
During character creation, you first choose one of eight base classes that you are locked into. Throughout your adventures, you can choose one of eight secondary classes, which you can also change at any time. What this change looks like has not been discussed yet.
Your class determines which skills you can use, but you have freedom in weapon selection. Some classes can handle certain weapons better. However, if you want to play a mage with a bow, you can do that. By performing combos with your weapon, you build up focus. You then use this to cast certain abilities that consume focus. Ashes of Creation will allow you to choose between an action-packed, active combat system and classic tab-targeting.

Leveling up also improves your settlement
The level cap at the release of the MMORPG will be level 50. It should take quite a while to level up, and every level up grants you skill points that you can distribute among your abilities. Each level up also brings experience points to the node near you. Nodes essentially represent the core of a play area. Depending on what deeds you accomplish, this changes the node and thus the area. Each node is also based on a settlement. The more EXP a node receives, the more that settlement improves up to a large metropolis.
A dungeon was also shown. These dungeons are open and do not represent instances. How the developers plan to solve the issue of many players camping at the boss spawn point is still unclear.
Graphically, Ashes of Creation makes a good impression according to the livestream video. However, the UI is still a placeholder. Judging by the video, we might expect a very interesting MMORPG. We will certainly see more of the game in 2018.
The MMORPG Ashes of Creation offers 64 classes, including some quite unusual combinations.
