The Kickstarter campaign for the MMORPG Ashes of Creation is going very well. After reaching the funding goal within just 12 hours, it has now surpassed the 1 million dollar mark.
Ashes of Creation seems to have hit a nerve with MMORPG fans. While other Kickstarter campaigns for online role-playing games have not fared so well, the interest in the game from Intrepid Studios appears to be significant. This is likely due to the team’s truly good and interesting ideas. Additionally, Ashes of Creation has already shown material from the game. And it looks good.
More than a million dollars!
By reaching the 1 million dollar mark within just 36 hours, the first stretch goal was unlocked. This allows gambling to make its way into the taverns, which you can play together with other players.
In addition, the developers presented some of the mounts from Ashes of Creation, which will be exclusively available to backers of the Kickstarter campaign. These include particularly ornate and decorated horses, the Moonstrider Mule, which is slow but can carry a lot, and the Dawnbreaker Mount, which allows you to fly through the air.
Stretch Goals within Reach
If 6,500 supporters are reached for the campaign, then every backer will receive a kitten and a puppy as pets. The next two stretch goals seem to be within reach given the speed with which the campaign is progressing. These include group mounts that can only be driven by groups of players and ships and sea voyages.
Ashes of Creation shows how great the interest in MMORPGs is – as long as they develop in a direction that many fans desire. The online role-playing game is expected to be released in late 2018. An alpha could start later this year.
