The tests continue
What happened? The launch of the free PvP online game Ashes of Creation Apocalypse on December 20 went anything but smoothly. Due to technical issues, the servers had to be shut down again on December 26. The team announced it would conduct further tests in January before the game goes live again in February.
When will it continue? As Intrepid Studios announced, an open beta will start today, January 11, around 7 PM. Everyone can participate. The beta is meant to test some features, including:
- Registration and sign-up
- Download
- Connection to matches
- Server performance
- Combat balance
- Solo and squad battle royale game modes
A short beta
When does the beta end? The open beta will only take place over the weekend. The servers will close again on January 14 around 7 AM. The developers hope that testers will provide a lot of feedback. A new form is available on the website.
This is what players think: Opinions about Ashes of Apocalypse and its troubled launch are mixed. Some players show understanding, while others are upset. However, most are now curious about how the open beta will play out. Many hope for improvements in stability and performance.
Further tests are expected to take place throughout the month, with dates yet to be announced.
