The tank online game Armored Warfare by My.com receives the major new update 0.22 “Art of War”. In it, you will get new China maps and Chinese tanks. Additionally, Armored Warfare will soon be available on Steam, although with a bitter aftertaste.
Armored Warfare is a tank action game in the style of Wargaming’s World of Tanks. However, in Armored Warfare, you start where tank development ends in World of Tanks. You drive modern tanks that range from the Cold War era to the 21st century. Therefore, you will find famous tanks in the game such as the T-62 or the Leopard II.
Soon, the fleet of Armored Warfare will be expanded with more tanks from China, and the game can be played via Steam.
Update 0.22 “Art of War” brings massive China content and new features
The title of update 0.22 “Art of War” refers to the legendary classic of warfare by Sun Tzu, a general and philosopher from ancient China. Therefore, the Middle Kingdom is the theme of the update. You will receive new maps for PvE and PvP set in rural China, as well as additional Chinese tanks like the 99A1 at Tier 9 and the 99A2 at Tier 10.
Also, there will be plenty of other vehicles from the Czechoslovak research line and the Polish-Czechoslovak line. Other new features in the update include:
- Improved graphics
- More complex commander system, allowing you to better customize your commanders to your playstyle
- Redesign of the map “Waterway”
- Revised vehicle mechanics, such as mobility, gun stabilization, and wheeled vehicles
The release of update 0.22 is still unclear, but it should take place in 2017.
Steam launch of Armored Warfare in November
Regardless of update 0.22, Armored Warfare will finally see its launch on Steam. Then you can go tank hunting together with your Steam friends, and some new players are likely to flock to the recently battered tank game. However, what pleases new players is a nuisance for veteran users.
Just like with Wargaming’s World of Warships, you will have to start over with a new account for Steam. Therefore, you cannot use your progress from your previous Armored Warfare account.
This makes many players unhappy in the forums and on Reddit. Some gamers see a fresh start as a welcome challenge. The Steam version of Armored Warfare launches on November 17.
Armored Warfare is not only coming to Steam. The release on PlayStation 4 of Armored Warfare is expected to occur in early 2018.
