ARK: Survival Evolved receives a new update on PS4 and Xbox One. Patch 1.24 brings new dinos and a functioning toilet to consoles. Additionally, there are a few optimizations. The patch is expected to be released next week.
PS4 and Xbox One will soon receive a new patch in Ark Survival Evolved. The update brings the consoles to the PC version v258. This means 5 new dinos for the survivors. With the new creatures, there will be a total of 100 dinos in the game, and no further ones are known.
Survivors will soon be able to do their business on functioning toilets and will receive a bonus for it.
Ark Survival Evolved: Patch 1.24 – ETA June 8 for PS4, Xbox One
In a tweet, community manager Jen announced that the console patch is expected on Thursday, June 8. The date is an estimate. If the certification process by Microsoft and Sony does not go smoothly, the update may be delayed.
Update 9.6: There have been delays with the patch. Currently, it is still in certification with Sony and Microsoft. The community manager says he believes something might still happen today, Friday (or during the night into Saturday our time).
Ark PS4, Xbox One: New Dinos, Optimizations, Toilets – What’s Included in the Patch
The patch brings new content for console players. PS4 and Xbox One will be updated to the PC version v258.
New Dinos: Hyaenodon, Hesperornis, Megatherium, Megalania, Yutyrannus
- Hyaenodon: Highly intelligent and tamable, survivors train them as hunting dogs.
- Hesperornis: A duck that survivors can use to farm oil. They use the bird’s eggs for this.
- Megatherium: A giant sloth that enjoys eating insects. The Megatherium does not damage the exoskeletons of insects, allowing survivors to farm chitin.
- Megalania: The giant lizard can easily climb cave walls and cliffs. Survivors can ride it and travel faster through caves.
- Yutyrannus: A relative of the T-Rex that primarily assists survivors in battle. Its roar inspires courage in other dinos and helps them fight better.

Toilets with flushing come & provide a bonus
Finally, survivors can go to the toilet like civilized people. It gets even better. Those who use the toilet and flush receive a refreshment buff that provides an XP boost.
