ARK Survival Evolved is getting new content. Studio Wildcard revealed a new Dino dossier and announced that the furry otter is joining the survival MMO. He may not be a great fighter, but he is an excellent collector. Primarily, the otter is cuddly and fluffy.
Survivors have a tough time in the ARK. Dangerous beasts lurk everywhere, ready to devour them whole. The harsh weather conditions like freezing snow or pouring rain can take a toll on the survivors. Not to mention: other tribes attacking the base and wanting to smash everything with their dinos.
Perhaps Studio Wildcard thought that survivors need a little relief from all the survival stress. The developers revealed a new Dino dossier that showcases the adorable otter.

In a world full of dangerous dinos, the delicate otter had to develop a clever head. He is an extraordinary hunter and collector and has to find ways to get to his favorite food, fish.
The otter is peaceful and poses no threat to survivors or dinos. Besides, the otter would be too frail to be a fighter anyway.
Otters are easy to find. They stand out with their elongated bodies, bushy tails, and webbed feet. Since otters are naturally curious and quickly gain trust, they are often hunted for their shiny fur. However, most survivors tame otters to have them as loyal companions by their side.
Tamed otters sit on the shoulder & collect pearls
Anyone who acquires such an otter as a survivor has a companion that is very close to them. This little creature prefers to get comfortable on the shoulder. The warm and soft fur provides warmth to the survivor while cuddling.
The survivor can also send the otter to hunt fish for him. The curious otter has a tendency to hoard silica pearls. Sometimes he even finds black pearls.
Pearls are an important resource in ARK for crafting technological items.
