The YouTube channel Candyland compared the different graphics settings of ARK: Survival Evolved and presented it in a video.
The video showcases the detail levels Low, Medium, High, and Epic in comparison. The differences are clearly noticeable within the first few seconds, especially between Low and Medium. However, even the two higher settings can be distinctly differentiated. Consequently, this is reflected in the FPS numbers. While the lowest setting achieves triple-digit values, the highest has only about 20.

It should be mentioned that the recording was made at 1440p. Anyone using a lower value should also have a faster gaming experience. Nevertheless, for most, High and Epic will remain unattainable, and even older computers will struggle with Medium. Low, on the other hand, looks terrible and is far from modern.
The recording was made with the following system:
- Intel Core i7-5820K 6x 3.3 GHz
- 16GB DDR4 Crucial Dual Channel 2133MHz (2x 8GB)
- ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980Ti Amp! Extreme Edition 6GB
- 500GB SATA III Samsung 840 EVO SSD
- 2TB SATA III Western Digital Red WD20EFRX
