The latest patch for ARK brings the breeding system. Players can breed entire generations of dinos, improving them.
The first glance captivates
Although it was originally said that the frequency of updates for ARK: Survival Evolved would decrease, players have noticed little of that so far. The latest update has even implemented a completely new system: breeding. Those who want to (and are willing to invest a lot of time) can now breed their dinosaurs and raise new generations of dangerous reptiles.
When two dinosaurs are brought together, the offspring receives some traits from the parents, as well as a few random attributes – a bit of genetic drift is always present. Over several generations, players can breed their perfect dino, which has exactly the values they consider important. Ultimately, this will allow them to breed significantly better riding and combat animals than they would ever encounter in the wild.
But that’s not all: The latest patch also brought a new sea creature, the gigantic Mosasaurus. This oversized crocodile isn’t very fast, but it offers enough space to serve as a floating base from which new attacks on the shore can be planned.
