ARK Survival Evolved is receiving a new update with new content on PS4 and Xbox One. Patch 1.14 brings the dinosaur survival game up to the latest PC version v255. Additionally, the new update is expected to improve performance.
ARK Survival Evolved PS4 Patch 1.14 – Release Date: ETA March 13
The Patch 1.14 for PS4 and Xbox One is expected to be released today, Monday, March 13. This is an estimated date from Studio Wildcard and may still be postponed. It is estimated that the update will be deployed overnight from Monday (March 13) to Tuesday (March 14).
Studio Wildcard always works closely on console patches. They wait for certification from Microsoft and Sony before deploying the update. Last time, the Xbox One update was on time, while the PlayStation 4 update was delayed by several days. It could also end up being Wednesday or Thursday.

ARK Patch 1.14 brings better performance on PS4 and Xbox One
ARK Survival Evolved has optimized its “Task Graph Threading” and “RHI” systems and brought them up to date with the latest Unreal Engine. This will increase performance on PS4 and Xbox One by 15%. With the system optimization, the consoles can better utilize the hardware, which reduces frame drops.
Since ARK Survival Evolved was released on PS4, players have complained about poor performance.

Electrophorus, Microraptor, Ammonite, Thylacoleo – these are the new dinos
New dinosaurs:
- Electrophorus – a type of eel used to tame large dinos with electric shocks
- Microraptor – these raptors are said to be suitable for attacking dino riders, as they ignore the dino and go straight for the rider
- Ammonite – an interesting resource, they protect nearby dinos when survivors try to “harvest” them
- Thylacoleo – a carnivorous marsupial that can be used as a mount for rough terrain

- TEK Shield Generator
- TEK building parts and doors
Cosmetic Items:
- 4 new beards and 4 new hairstyles – unlockable through new explorer notes
