ARK released an update with the mod “The Center” – the developers of the mod were generously compensated.
The Center: Larger than the original game world
The latest patch of ARK: Survival Evolved has provided the game with its largest update to date. From now on, the mod “The Center” is a permanent part of the game. Originally developed by a community member, the developers found it so good that it has now become part of the base game.
Along with the new map, which is significantly larger than the original ARK game world, numerous new servers have also been opened exclusively running “The Center” and can accommodate up to 100 players each. Anyone hosting their own server can also easily switch between the two maps.
Also interesting: If Studio Wildcard is convinced by a mod, they offer the creators money to incorporate it into the game. In the case of “The Center,” that was “multiple months’ salary of what a creator would normally earn.” So anyone who considers themselves particularly creative and persistent and wants to present their modification to the 6 million players should diligently start working and let their creativity flow. It could pay off.
By the way, another mod will become a permanent part of the game in July, as “Primitive+” is planned to be implemented then.
The next major patch is scheduled for May 30, which will include filling the ruins of ARK with the recordings of former survivors so that players can learn the background story.
