The sandbox game Avorion has celebrated its release on Steam, and we want to join in. Therefore, we’re giving away 20 Steam keys for the full version of the game. Join in!
What is Avorion? The title is a sandbox game in space, developed by the German studio Boxelware from Erlangen.
On Steam, the game currently enjoys very good ratings and is rated “positive” by 91% of the 4945 reviews (as of March 19, 10:38 AM).
The focus of Avorion lies not only on exploration and gathering resources but also on the creative construction of your own ships and even entire fleets. You start as a small drone and work your way through thousands of different sectors of the galaxy.
The closer you get to the center, the rarer and more valuable the resources you can mine will be. Accordingly, you can build better ships from them. The center was closed off 200 years ago, but supposedly, the legendary mineral Avorion is located right there.
So the sandbox game offers you:
- A procedurally generated galaxy consisting of a million different sectors that you can explore freely.
- You can mine minerals there and use them to build and improve ships or stations. Avorion gives you a lot of freedom in design.
- You also have the freedom to choose your play style. You can wage wars in the game and raid others or rather accumulate wealth through trade. It’s up to you.

In the future, the developers announced free updates and larger DLCs that are set to come over the next 2 years.
