The ARD surprises its viewers on Twitch not only with watch parties, but also with unusual actions: Recently, host Malte tattooed the tattoo artist Steven during a livestream, while the chat feared a ban.
Since when has ARD been streaming on Twitch? It may surprise some, but the ARD has been streaming on Twitch for a while now. They started in October 2022, after a break until January 2023, they have been streaming regularly since then.
Most of the time they are active in the Just Chatting format, with various formats. They have also played games like Electrician Simulator and House Flipper 2 on their channel.
On average, they reached about 1100 viewers in the last three months. Among their most notable followers are LetsHugoTV, EintrachtSpandau, DoktorFroid, and SkylineTVlive.
On June 17, they were live on Twitch again. This time there was a watch party for the football match between France and Austria. However, the actual highlight of the evening was not the game, but host Malte who got to tattoo the tattoo artist Steven.
There are always crazy actions on Twitch:
“I really want to tattoo someone today”
How did the tattoo action come about? During the football match, ARD host Malte expresses: “I really want to tattoo someone today because Antoine Griezmann is also tattooed. He is somehow tattooed from head to toe. That’s why I said: ‘Hey, dear production, please get me someone.'”
At this moment, tattoo artist Steven from Bochum enters the room and offers himself as a practice subject. When Malte washes his hands in the toilet, he jokes about hopefully not getting banned on Twitch for it.
Why were these jokes not unfounded? After all, DrDisrespect was banned in 2019 when he did an IRL stream from E3 and visited the toilet multiple times while continuing to film.
The streamer Tanzverbot also received a ban in 2023 when he placed his phone on a sink in a public toilet during a stream. This resulted in a person in the stream washing their hands, which led to a short ban.
“Suddenly, I’m getting really nervous,” says the host
What was tattooed? With the score at 1-0 for France, Malte and Steven go about their mission to tattoo. The design and the location are set: the lettering “Malte” with a stick figure underneath on the inner thigh.
How did the session go? At first, Steven jokes as Malte disinfects him: “Now you can rub nicely so we both have fun” and later, “you should be gentle.” Malte has a brief moment of doubt and asks, “Oh guys, do we really want to do this? Suddenly, I’m getting really nervous.”
But he goes through with it and makes the first strokes. As Malte gains more self-confidence, the chat gets nervous.
What did the chat fear? Numerous messages feared a ban.
- Volcanoenthusiast wrote: “You will get banned on Twitch for this.”
- Stierkamp wrote: “But please without blood, otherwise ban.”
- Treppecologne wrote: “Yes, tattooing is actually banned, but let’s see, it is ARD after all.”
This is because the Twitch guidelines state: “We allow a variety of content on Twitch, but extreme violence or bloody representations can be disturbing or shocking, especially when they depict death, mutilation or blood.“
The cameraman quickly reacted to the concerns
How did they resolve the situation? While Malte discusses possible penalties next to tattooing, the cameraman quickly reacts to the situation. He films from further away and increasingly shows the faces of Steven and Malte. In the end, however, there is still a close-up of the tattoo that was done.
The cameraman probably saves the situation, as nothing is visible this way. The ARD can continue streaming on Twitch.
In spring 2023, Twitch permanently banned the streamer Real_Bazzi
, also known as Bazzi
