The developers of the new shooter ARC Raiders welcomed 190,000 players simultaneously to their server test. Now the developers explain which 4 things they want to improve before the release.
What kind of game is this? ARC Raiders is an upcoming extraction shooter from developer studio Embark, which already made waves with their first shooter The Finals. The shooter officially launches on October 30, 2025, on Steam, but players were allowed to test the game during the server slam weekend between October 17 and 20.
In ARC Raiders, it’s all about nasty robots that have conquered the Earth’s surface. As a brave raider, you still venture there to loot and complete tasks. Along the way, you encounter not only the hostile machines but also other players who are, as usual, not always peaceful.
Recently, all players who wanted to could try the new shooter during a major server slam for a weekend. According to SteamDB, almost 190,000 players joined the servers at the same time. The developers have now released a new update and explained what they learned from it.

Four things that will change by release
What have the developers learned? The developers of ARC Raiders have published a statement on ArcRaiders.com, naming four points that will change before the release.
The first point concerns server stability. It has already been improved during the test, and they are continuing to work on fixing further instabilities that arose during testing.
There will also be a nerf. The developers explain as the second point that they want to nerf the vision of the flying ARCs. During the test, it was noticed that the robots could see through bushes and trees, which made them too strong. At release, they will no longer have this ability.
The third point concerns the so-called “Dam Tower.” The tower was too easily reached by players in the beta, which is not the point of it. Therefore, the path to it will become a bit more difficult.
As the last point, the developers mention changes to the graphics. Those who have tested ARC Raiders before the server slam may have noticed that the graphics had deteriorated slightly. This happened for performance reasons, but they will take another look at the issue and find the right balance between good looks and performance.
Community is excited and has demands
What does the community think about the changes? The four changes are well received by the community. Players are generally hyped about the shooter and want to start as soon as possible. However, there are concerns about change number 4.
Reddit user James_bd explains that the developers should definitely not hide bushes on low graphics settings. Stealth in the game is very important. Other users also complain about this on Reddit:
- User o_oli writes: “Yes, I tried it so many times and failed to hide in the foliage only to get shot. That is SUPER frustrating. I must have really looked dumb to everyone with low settings crouching out in the open landscape, lol.”
- User middle1984 has experienced this too: “Trust me, you weren’t the only one who thought bushes would provide cover. Most probably thought that. I thought maybe the ARCs had heat sensors.”
- User Steve44465 explains why this is a problem: “The fact that a large part of the game revolves around stealth and hiding, but different graphics options cause the positions of the foliage to change, is just bad. I hope they fix this and simply reduce the detail accuracy of the bushes instead of moving them to other areas of the map.”
ARC Raiders is eagerly awaited by many players, also making it a competitor to the founder of the “Escape from Tarkov” genre.
