What are these tips? ARC Raiders has a simple gameplay principle: Choose a map, spawn, search for loot, and escape with a full bag of items. As simple as it may sound, your journey will be fraught with great difficulties, and if you dive into the genre as a newcomer, additional problems will arise.
The entry is certainly not easy and may even overwhelm some players. Therefore, we will show you things to consider to ensure you have a relaxed start upon release. These tips focus on your equipment, tactics, and your enemies. There’s something for everyone.
Crouch to avoid detection
Crouching is among the most important features in ARC Raiders. While crouching, you can reduce the noise of your movement, allowing you to cross various areas silently. This is especially useful when you want to avoid ARC patrols to not suddenly find yourself in a line of fire.
The same applies to real players in your vicinity. Therefore, if you find yourself in a dangerous area, it doesn’t hurt to move quietly.
Take blue items instead of rare ones
If you want to earn money, you need to loot a lot in ARC Raiders, but which items should you take? At first glance, your eyes are drawn to items with a diamond marking. These materials are considered rare and should theoretically yield the most, but that was not the case during the server slam.
Items with blue rarity had a higher market value. Whether this will change by the release is uncertain, but so far, you should focus on blue-bordered items when looting.
Aim for the ARC’s weak points
The ARC represents one of the dangers during your explorations, as they can be armored, fast, and exceedingly efficient when fighting against you. These robots seem almost unbeatable, especially when they attack in groups – but they also have weak points.
In battle, you should not shoot wildly at their chassis, but rather save your bullets. Therefore, aim at mechanical body parts and engines. Also, use weapons with high armor penetration, as these are much stronger in combat against robots and armored raiders.
Coordinate with your squad
In a friend squad or matched with random players – always coordinate. ARC Raiders can be played much more tactically and leisurely if you follow the same paths in the group. Additionally, this makes every fight a piece of cake, as focused group fire can take down enemies much more quickly.
Some users reported many issues with the voice chat related to crashes. In such cases, you can use the in-house party chat (for console) on the same platforms or switch to Discord. These options seemed to be more reliable during the server slam.
Align your equipment
In connection with the voice chat, coordinating your equipment within the squad is also crucial. Who takes which items, is there a player who takes on the role of the medic and primarily stocks up on bandages? Does anyone have space for ammunition and supplies the squad when there’s a lack of bullets?
You should clarify such things before your drop into the border zone, so you are not overwhelmed by a better-prepared squad in sweaty situations. It would be frustrating, for example, if you bleed out because you didn’t plan for additional bandages.
Do not play aggressively
Even though ARC Raiders exudes a touch of Mad Max through its apocalyptic setting, you should not charge at your enemies like a barbarian and attack them without tactics. The goal is to be more tactical and weigh which confrontations seem worthwhile and which should be ignored. Take your time exploring and observe what is happening on the map. Rambo-style players unfortunately do not last long in the borderlands.
Plan your routes
If you want to loot profitably, you need to familiarize yourself with the different maps and plan your routes accordingly. Fixed routes are important because each map has POIs. These POIs have different loot amounts, marked from white (for little loot) to red (for a lot of loot).
Each spawn point is randomly chosen, but your objectives before the start do not change. Therefore, it is crucial to know which path leads fastest to loot and your escape option. The latter is essential because you should plan for chases with enemies.
It would be frustrating if you were being hunted and ended up lost because you didn’t know where the next exit was. A plan saves you time while exploring and also offers you security.
Do not take too many items before an expedition
The most important point is related to your storage, which you should use before your next expedition. Pack all items you do not need into your box to keep them safe. If you forget this step, you will lose all your items upon dying and will have to watch an enemy take your belongings. Therefore, limit your inventory to some ammunition, your weapon, and possibly a few bandages if you do not have anyone in your squad carrying them for the whole team.
