Apple has provided insights into the most successful and popular mobile games of 2019 on iPhone and iPad as the year comes to a close. There are some big names that made it into the Top 10.
2019 shook up the mobile gaming scene significantly. Many major game titles have brought a version to mobile or continue to be extremely successful even after years.
This is also reflected in the Top 10 of the Apple charts. The Top 10 paid and free games for iPhone and iPad are listed there.
Mario Kart Tour and CoD Mobile extremely successful

The most successful games on iPhone: Mobile users prefer to travel with big game names. Mario Kart, Fortnite, and Call of Duty are represented.

What stands out here? Especially Mario Kart Tour has made an enormous start. The game was released only in September and has developed into a download hit within a few months. The download numbers add up, even though criticism around Pay2Win arose before the release.
Similarly successful is Call of Duty: Mobile. “Only” in 4th place stands the shooter, which was released only in early October. In the first week alone, it was downloaded 100 million times. Thus, the shooter achieved the most successful launch of a mobile game ever.
As a paid game, Minecraft dominates here. The game is still extremely successful after years and is not only played on PC. Even the spin-off Minecraft Earth doesn’t compete with its big brother.
The most successful games on iPad: On the iPad, many big game names almost completely disappear. Instead, there is space for games like Roblox, which is extremely popular among children.
