A nasty bug has been causing trouble in Apex Legends for almost 2 weeks, locking out the best players of the game. However, the bug fix is taking time, as the developers explain.
Here’s what the bug is about: It is related to the new maximum level 500. Those who have reached this level can now be thrown out of the game and can no longer log in. The error message “Server Shutting down – Internal Server error” appears for affected players.
We reported on this bug on January 12, but there is still no solution. However, Respawn has now explained on Reddit why the fix is taking so long.
Players are angry – Developers understand
Here’s the situation regarding the bug: A few days ago, Respawn made it public that they have a fix for the bug and it’s ready. However, the fix seems to have no effect. Players are still being locked out.
Now the mood in the forums is negative. It’s particularly frustrating that the loyal players are affected. After all, one has to invest many hours in Apex Legends to reach the maximum level 500. The frustration is high when one cannot play one of their favorite games due to a silly bug.
This is what the developer revealed now: Under one of the numerous threads addressing this topic, developer Rayme Vinson stated: “I completely understand your frustration, but it is a high priority for us. This kind of thing is complicated and can easily be exacerbated. So it is being triple-checked. Hopefully, there will be good news soon, and you are right, it concerns some of the most active players! That’s just not right.”
The situation regarding the bug seems to be complicated and needs to be checked multiple times.
Affected players will probably have to wait a bit longer. They must continue to switch to accounts that are not yet at level 500.
When can a fix be expected? This is still completely unclear at the moment. It can be assumed that Respawn will implement the solution via a hotfix, as it affects the most active players. Another option would be to include the fix in the major Season 4 update, which is expected on February 4.
This player is likely not affected by the bug. He played Apex Legends on an airport monitor:
