The live ticker for the head start of Anthem
21:20: EA has since resolved the server issues. Everyone should now be able to log into Anthem.
19:31: The controls have reportedly improved significantly. In the demo, players found them clumsy. Especially when flying, the difference is said to be very noticeable. Players are reporting on Reddit.
MeinMMO readers are also reporting positively about the controls:
Venrai: “I must say, the tutorial is very well done and has a nice touch of humor. The controls on PC are worlds better than in the demo.”
Jag Arilon: “I logged in at 16:40, I’m currently in the tutorial and it’s going very well in the first few minutes. I’m definitely positively surprised by the PC controls. They’re better than in the beta.”
Loken: “In terms of flight controls, Bioware has kept its word; it feels very good on PC. Underwater it is now also significantly better.”

19:00: EA has started an official live stream for Anthem’s early access. They want to answer questions and accompany the launch live.
17:26: Server problems are easing – More and more players can log in and get started with Anthem. Even allestoerungen.de indicates that the issues are slowly subsiding. Shortly after the spike in issues around 16 o’clock, they are decreasing again around 17 o’clock.
17:02: Some players are having problems finding their bonus items if they own the special edition “Legion of Dawn”. We have a guide on how to get your items:
16:54: Players on Xbox One who, despite EA Access, are unable to access Anthem can try this approach: Access the game via the Microsoft Store on your console. In the store overview, you should have the option to download a free trial.
16:46: An official Twitter account of EA confirmed the server problems. They know that some are currently having trouble accessing the servers. The staff is trying to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. No reasons for the cause of the server issues are given.
16:24: According to allestoerungen.de, EA has recorded server issues since exactly 4 PM. At 4 PM the early access for Anthem started.
16:17: Error messages: Those trying to log in are receiving different error messages. In the editorial team, we notice a cycle among the following:
- No server found
- Connection problem
- The server has been shut down
Anthem has connection problems
16:00: The servers are open and the first players are entering Anthem. However, there seem to be server problems. First reports from players are surfacing, saying they can’t connect to the game.
What is happening here? We will keep you updated about the release weekend, how the servers are doing, whether problems arise and will generally provide you with information.

Is it to be expected that there will be issues? Anthem is an online multiplayer game. There is hardly a game in this field that has had a completely smooth launch without issues.
It is quite likely that the servers will struggle or serious bugs will emerge. Technically speaking, the demo launch of Anthem was a disaster. However, the developers have already published a list of issues that are supposed to be fixed by launch.
Head start means fewer players: Today (February 15), during the early access start, only a limited number of players can dive into the world of Anthem.
During early access, players on PC can participate either with Origin Access Premier or Origin Access Basic. Xbox One users have the opportunity to use EA Access. This is a subscription model from EA’s own gaming platform, Origin.
Fewer players could also mean that the initial release will go smoother on the server side.
