In Anthem there is a cash shop where you can purchase optional cosmetic items. How to get the currency coins, or coins, we show you here.
What are coins? Coins, or in English, coins, are one of the two currencies with which you can purchase cosmetics in the cash shop in Anthem. The currencies are:
- Coins that you can earn in the game
- Shards that you can buy with real money
What is available in the cash shop? In the cash shop of Anthem, you will mainly find cosmetic items for your Javelin, such as armors or vinyls. There are no pay-to-win elements in the shop. Therefore, you cannot buy items that make you stronger in the game.
In addition to cosmetics, you can also purchase a limited number of crafting materials per week with coins.

How to earn coins in Anthem
When you start Anthem, you have 40,000 coins available for the cash shop. You can earn more coins in the game.
Campaign
To earn coins in Anthem, you just need to play the campaign. Some missions give you up to 2,000 coins and other rewards, such as crafting materials. In the 15 to 20 hours that the story of Anthem roughly takes, you can already accumulate quite a few coins.
In addition, there are the missions of the various factions that you can complete during and after the campaign, which also reward you with coins and other bonuses.

Challenges
You will complete challenges alongside playing, but you can also work towards them purposefully. You can find challenges in your codex. They require you to eliminate enemies with a specific weapon or revive a certain number of teammates.
No matter what you need to do for the challenges, they reward you with coins and other items. Through the weapon challenges, you can obtain the coveted blueprints.
You can find more about the challenges in our article about the endgame.

Alliance System
Alliances are a reward system in Anthem that brings you coins weekly. With every activity in the game, you gain experience that flows into the alliance system. The experience of other players in your group also contributes to the alliance. Additionally, the experience of players on your friends list who play Anthem counts toward the alliance.
Depending on what level the alliance has reached, you will be paid a certain amount of coins at the weekly reset.

Freeplay
As some players report in the Anthem subreddit, freeplay is said to be well-suited for farming coins. The chests in the open world are also said to occasionally contain coins.
It has been reported that freelancers received between 800 and 2000 coins from some chests. However, it should be mentioned that not all chests contain coins.
We have an excellent farm route for chests in freeplay here for you.

Daily, weekly, and monthly trials
Lucky Jak is the contact person for trials, and you will find him in Fort Tarsis near Owen and Yarrow. Trials require you to complete certain tasks while playing.
Trials can also reward you with coins.
However, you do not necessarily have to go to Lucky Jak to get your trials. Check your cortex under challenges and “Path to Fame”. There you will find additional trials that you can complete. One of the things that Anthem does not explain well to players.
