If you carefully wander through the world of Anthem, you may have noticed: Pop-ups constantly appear, informing you about various achievements. In fact, these so-called achievements determine how many experience points you receive at the end of a mission.
These achievements are displayed to you in the form of small icons, along with a play style medal that assigns you a rank. The rank is determined based on your play style. How does it all fit together? How can you influence the play style medal you receive? MeinMMO has the answers!
These play style medals exist and here’s how to unlock them
In Anthem, you can unlock a total of four play style medals after a successful mission:
- Soldier
- Artillery
- Executioner
- Wise
Moreover, there is another secret medal.
How can I influence which medal I receive? In fact, you can influence which medal you get. To do this, you need to adjust your play style:
- Soldier – You receive this medal when you kill elite enemies and hit the weak points of your foes.
- Artillery – Use various weapons to take down your enemies. Additionally, you must utilize your Javelin abilities and complete combos. This is likely the hardest medal to achieve.
- Executioner – Kill legendary enemies and use your ultimate ability.
- Wise – Revive fallen teammates, open treasure chests, collect items in the world, and harvest materials.
What does the play style medal bring you? Although the exact effect is not known, the play style medal serves mainly informational purposes. It defines what achievements you primarily accomplished in the current mission. But what achievements are there?
All achievements and how to unlock them
What are achievements anyway? Those who distinguish themselves in the world of Anthem through special actions are rewarded with achievements, which in turn influence your experience gain after the end of a mission.
Important: Achievements are available in the tiers of bronze, silver, and gold. Depending on the frequency of the executed achievement, you will receive the next level – and thus more experience points.
To maximize your experience points, you need to play as variably as possible. The following achievements are available in Anthem:
- Gathered materials – Collect resource nodes to activate this achievement. Supports the play style Wise.
- Kills – Quickly eliminate many enemies in a row to unlock this achievement. Beneficial for the play style Soldier.
- Collection – Find collectibles in the world of Anthem. These are also needed for the notorious tomb quest. Collectibles are important for the play style of the Wise.
- World events – Complete world events to gain this achievement. Naturally, this does not work in missions or fortresses and is not tied to any play style medal.
- Close combat master – Defeat enemies in close combat to receive this achievement. Important for the Soldier and Artillery.
- Support – Support other Freelancers in missions by completing tasks together. Not associated with any play style medal.
- Equipment master – Defeat enemies using your equipment, i.e., your Javelin skills. Needed for Artillery.
- Slayer (Elite) – Kill enemies with the word “Elite” in their name (above the health bar). Important for Soldier.
- Slayer (Legendary) – Kill enemies with the word “Legendary” in their name. These achievements are important for Executioner.
- Combos – Trigger combos on enemies under a status effect. Important for Artillery.
- Mission completed – Complete missions to the end to unlock this achievement. This is not tied to any play style medal.
- Weak point specialist – Defeat enemies with critical hits to their weak points to increase the chance of receiving a Soldier play style medal at the end of the mission.
- Ultimate master – Defeat enemies using your ultimate ability to be honored as Executioner at the end.
- Allies revived – Revive fallen Freelancers and you might call yourself Wise at the end of the mission.
- Weapon master – Defeat enemies through raw weapon power. These achievements are important for the Soldier and Artillery.
What else do the achievements bring? Achievements not only determine your experience points, they can even earn you coins. You can view your progress for this in the menu under Challenges -> Achievements. So those who complete as many achievements as possible can earn some additional coins.
