The first sales figures of Anthem caused some unrest among fans. However, the Lead Producer reassures: Players should not worry.
Anthem has officially been released for over a week now, and the news surrounding the shooter from BioWare is mixed. In addition to the mixed reviews from players and testers, there were mainly many discussions about the sales figures, as the first sales figures of the “box version” of the game were relatively low.
However, since Anthem attracts a large portion of its players through digital sales, this is not very reliable. The Lead Producer of Anthem said multiple times: Everything is fine, many players are playing Anthem.

This is what Gamble said: On Twitter, some fans expressed their concerns that Anthem might not be as successful as planned by the studio bosses. One user stated, “I hope EA will not close your studio.” Gamble replied:
“Many people are playing Anthem, and we have released our plans for the coming months. Don’t worry about that, we are receiving a lot of support.”
Gamble was particularly pleased about the many players from Japan who would be playing Anthem.
Discussion about sales caused unrest: Some players also connected their worries with the initial figures of the box sales. They were “worried about what EA might do if Anthem does not meet sales expectations.” However, Gamble responded very calmly with “Don’t worry. Honestly.”
What fans fear: Some players of Anthem are concerned about the future of the game. After all, EA has a reputation for quickly shutting down game studios and further developments of games if initial expectations are not met. This last occurred with Mass Effect: Andromeda, where DLCs were actually still planned, but were abruptly canceled after a poor launch.
At least Gamble’s words should calm the fans a bit. At the moment, he seems at least satisfied with Anthem’s performance.
