In Anthem, you can choose the wear state of your Javelin. However, not all options are unlocked at the beginning. We will show you how it works.
Show us your Javelin: The 4 different Javelins are often compared to the Iron Suit of Marvel icon Iron Man and are similarly mobile in the air.
However, they are not only your combat tool; they are also what tuned cars are for proud owners: you can change their appearance and customize them to your preferences.
For this, you have many options for your suit. One of them is the wear state.
This has several categories, but they must first be unlocked. We will show you how it works.
Loyalty for visual customization
What wear states are available? There are 5 different states for your Javelin:
- Old (Available from the start)
- Dirty (Available from the start)
- Standard
- New
- Clean
What role do they play? They have no effect on your suit. The changes are purely visual. The differences mainly lie in shine and cleanliness.
How to unlock them: To unlock the other states, you primarily need to earn loyalty or faction points with the Freelancers.
There are a total of 3 ranks for Freelancer loyalty:
- At rank 1, you unlock some components for your Javelin and unusual blueprints along with the Standard state
- Rank 2 gives you the Clean state and some rare blueprints
- Rank 3 finally unlocks the New state for your Javelin and is the last level of the challenge. In addition, there are epic blueprints and other extras.
- Upon completing rank 3, a fourth rank is unlocked. To complete it, you must collect 50,000 rank points for all factions. As a reward, “Gold” material for your Javelin awaits, as well as several masterwork blueprints.
For this, you have a wide range of activities. It may be fastest if you complete contracts and Freelancer missions. This also includes your story missions.
Conversations also bring loyalty: Additionally, you can talk to NPCs in Fort Tarsis. Completing dialogues can also earn you faction points. Here is a list of the NPCs you can talk to:

There are other factions where you can unlock materials, colors, and other things in a similar way.
