VIP demo start time for Anthem is today, January 25th, at 6:00 PM. Just before the demo release, we summarize all the important information here again. Here you will find the times, bonuses and system requirements, as well as everything about inviting friends.
What time does the VIP demo of Anthem start and end?
- Start: Today, January 25, 2019 at 6:01 PM
- End: Monday, January 28, 2019 at 3:01 AM
- Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
How to participate in the VIP demo: To participate in the demo, you must pre-order Anthem. Access to Anthem will be obtained via:
- the Origin Access or EA Access
- the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store
You can also be invited by someone with access to the VIP demo. In this case, you do not need to pre-order Anthem.
You need to redeem the demo code: You will receive a VIP demo code. This must be redeemed on EA’s website. If you pre-ordered Anthem from a different retailer than the ones mentioned above, you will receive the code from your chosen retailer.
However, there seem to be issues with Amazon at this time. Players report that the codes are used up here.
Important for players on PS4 and Xbox One: You will need PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold for the Anthem demo to play. Anthem is an online multiplayer game where you partake in many activities as a group.
Digital pre-order players receive VIP code later
The VIP code is not there despite pre-ordering: There have been complaints from pre-orderers that they have not yet received their VIP code. This seems to be the case if you pre-ordered digitally. So if you purchased Anthem digitally in the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store.
In this case, according to the developers, you should receive the code by today (January 25) at 6:00 PM at the latest.
Invite friends to the VIP demo – Here’s how
Invite friends to the VIP demo: Once you have redeemed your VIP code, you can invite up to three friends to the VIP demo. Go to the Refer-A-Friend page of EA and now:
- You will receive a friend pass link when you are signed in
- Copy the link and send it to a maximum of three friends. You will see how many of those codes have been redeemed
- Your friends will receive instructions once they click the link
The friend code is valid for all platforms: Your friends can choose the platform they want to play the VIP demo on. They are not bound to your own platform. However, there is no cross-play, if you want to play with friends, you need to choose the same platform.
The bonus for VIP demo players: Vinyl skins
VIP demo players receive a gift: Anyone who plays during the VIP demo weekend will receive the special vinyl skin. The skin is for all Javelins. The skins will then be available in the release title.

System requirements for PC
The PC system requirements for Anthem are higher for PC already. The demo is now perfect for testing how well your PC can handle the game.
Minimum requirements for PC:

- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon 7970 / R9 280X
- Graphics card memory: at least 2 GB VRAM

- Hard Drive: at least 50 GB of free space
Recommended system requirements for PC:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 (@ 3.6GHz) or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X (@ 3.5 GHz)

Technical details for consoles: This much FPS will be achieved
Anthem does not reach 60 FPS on consoles: Neither on the standard versions, nor on the more powerful PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. FPS means how many frames per second run on the screen. The faster this process is, the smoother the game runs.
For the consoles, BioWare aims for 30 FPS, whether in Full HD or 4K resolution.
Which Javelins and content can be played?
You can play two Javelins: In the demo you start with the Ranger, just like in the main game. Throughout the demo, you can then decide which of the other three suits you want to unlock.
