Sony has deleted the video of Anthem from its own YouTube channel because fans became angry. On Xbox, this is considered a clear victory.
The rivalry between Sony and Microsoft is especially reflected in the console wars between Xbox and PlayStation. The venue for the latest conflict is apparently the upcoming BioWare game Anthem. It was revealed at E3 and attracted a lot of attention as it has ambitious goals and promises to be a multiplayer highlight.
During E3, there was also the first gameplay footage, which not only served to present the game but also aimed to showcase the performance of the new Xbox One X. Since Anthem will also be released for PlayStation 4, a gameplay trailer on Sony’s official PlayStation YouTube channel followed shortly thereafter.
However, it didn’t take long for viewers to notice some strange images in the video. When the buttons to press were displayed in the gameplay scenes, observant viewers noticed that the PS4 buttons were simply overlaid on those of the Xbox One X!
In the meantime, Sony has deleted the video from its channel without comment. An official statement regarding this “deception” is still pending.
The marketing manager of Xbox, Aaron Greenberg, commented on this on Twitter with an “Oops!” and a crying smiley face from joy.
However, Sony has also earned this mockery.
The accusation here is clear: Sony’s PlayStation 4 will not achieve the same performance as the Xbox One X and wanted to beautify its own material in order to have convincing gameplay and gameplay scenes on the channel.
What do you think of the whole situation? An embarrassing action by Sony or is it rather childish to laugh about it now? Let us know in the comments!
