Players are wondering before the launch of Anthem: Does the progress made in the Alphas, Betas, or the demo before the release matter?
That is the question: As with any game, players wonder whether the progress they make in the various Alphas or demos available before the launch of Anthem is retained.
Do players who start early in the demo have an advantage? Do they start with better equipment or a higher level?
This is the answer: As confirmed by the lead producer of Anthem, Ben Irving, on Twitter, the progress made in the tests and demo of Anthem will NOT carry over to the release.
What other opportunities are there to play Anthem before the release?
There will be two demos before Anthem launches:
- A VIP demo available only for pre-order customers. It will run from January 25 to January 27.
- A second demo will be open for everyone. It will be active from February 1 to February 3.
The progress from these demos will be deleted at launch.
An alpha was already completed on December 8 and 9.
There is no beta in the true sense for Anthem – it is this demo version.
No further dates are currently known.
When does it start with Anthem?
There are three launch dates for the full game Anthem: The actual launch of Anthem starts on February 15. However, this is an early access only for players who subscribe to “Origin Access Premier” on PC.
- From February 15, players who have completed an “Origin Access Basic” subscription on PC or have “EA Access” on Xbox One can play for 10 hours.
- All others will have to wait until the regular launch on February 22.
Even though the progress from the demo is not retained, on February 22 players will face different starting conditions on PC and Xbox One – depending on whether they had early access or not.
On PlayStation 4, however, everyone will start fresh on February 22.
