There was almost a movie about Sailor Moon in which Uranus and Neptune would have appeared for the first time. The story was supposed to revolve around the two warriors, but ended up in a completely different anime.
What kind of movie would that have been? Kunihiko Ikuhara was the director for the movie Sailor Moon Super S. He had the idea that not Sailor Moon, but Uranus and Neptune would be the main characters. The story was to be independent of the series and introduce the two warriors to the franchise for the first time.
Sailor Neptune was supposed to be in a 1000-year sleep in a place called “The End of the World”. Uranus was supposed to steal a talisman from the Sailor Warriors to resurrect Neptune.
There was supposed to be a chase scene in which Sailor Moon rides on a white Pegasus behind Sailor Neptune on a black Pegasus. The climax of the whole thing was to be a battle between the two warriors on the flying horses.

Why was the movie never made? Before the production began, the movie’s producer left the animation studio. It would have still been possible for Ikuhara to make the movie without the producer. But since they developed the idea together, the director also left the animation studio.
What happened to the idea? However, the idea of the “End of the World” never left his mind. Therefore, he included that part of the story in the anime Revolutionary Girl Utena. The anime is also a magical girl series like Sailor Moon and premiered in 1997. Ikuhara worked there as a director.

There are many people there who have a similar ring as she does. The duelists fight for the Rose Bride. Utena finds it unfair that she is seen as an object and participates in the battle for her to spare her a cruel fate.
An idea that has prevailed is the live-action series of Sailor Moon. However, many fans would probably have been glad if it hadn’t existed. It caused laughter and was not well received: The American version of Sailor Moon was so terrible that it was canceled after one episode.
