A new bug has been discovered in Destiny 2 that significantly buffs equipped weapons. What’s going on with this?
What kind of bug is this? The bug is triggered by the exotic fusion rifle “One Thousand Voices”. This is an Exotic that rarely drops from the boss in the “Last Wish” raid as a random drop.
With the Season 6 update, One Thousand Voices was buffed by +25% damage in PvE.
However, it seems Bungie made a mistake. Because when you equip One Thousand Voices, suddenly all other weapons are also increased by +25% PvE damage.
No effect on PvP
How the bug was discovered: Professional streamer Gladd recently shared a video on Twitter showcasing this bug. We embed the video here:
He writes that equipping 1000 Voices buffs all equipped weapons by 25%. That is not okay.
He provides proof in the video. He compares the damage output of a hand cannon before and after equipping One Thousand Voices. The result clearly shows that the hand cannon also experiences a significant damage buff (from 746 to 918 precision damage).
Is the bug only in PvE? After further testing, Gladd confirms that the buff does not affect PvP. Other users report that the bug is also active in Gambit, but only applies to PvE enemies.
What does Bungie say about it? We currently do not have an official statement from Bungie regarding this. However, a fix will likely be necessary sooner rather than later. After all, this is a game bug that gives advantages in the PvEvP mode Gambit and is triggered solely by equipping a weapon. Multiple guardians will benefit from it without even knowing.
Therefore, there will certainly be no penalties for exploiting the bug.
Until the bug is fixed, PvE will be 25% easier for you – as long as you own One Thousand Voices.
