The raid hour in Pokémon GO did not go as it should have. Now there is news about compensation.
What was the event? On Wednesday, September 3rd at 6:00 PM, the raid hour with Palkia in its Original Form took place. This is one of the best Pokémon in the game and is likely to be an exciting catch for many players.
However, it seems that some players experienced issues with the event.
What were the problems? Apparently, the issue was that in some places, there simply were no Palkia raids in the Original Form (one example here on Reddit). The monster reportedly did not appear during the designated time. As a result, trainers were unable to catch it.
Previously, other players also reported receiving incorrect spawns after a Palkia raid – such as Snorlax (on Reddit) or Starmie (also on Reddit). These problems occurred outside the raid hour and are presumably not meant here.
Now Niantic has commented on this.
How the event in Pokémon GO will be compensated
What Niantic says: After the Niantic support had already announced during the event that they were investigating the issues, they followed up with the upcoming solution.
Next week, there is already another raid hour planned with Original Form Palkia. This will now be extended. Instead of taking place as usual from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, it will start at 5:00 PM. So, there will be an additional hour (via Reddit).
This also suggests that the primary concern is the non-appearing raids. There is currently no update regarding the “incorrect spawns” outside of the raid hour.
Is Original Form Palkia worth it? Yes, Original Form Palkia is a quite strong attacker in Pokémon GO. Especially, it is an absolute top monster in the Master League: PvPoke currently ranks the Original Form of Palkia as the second strongest monster in the Master League ranking, only surpassed by Zacian in its Sword Form.
It is important that Palkia must know the move “Aqua Tail.” This not only provides the option to trigger its adventure effect, but also is part of the moveset that makes Palkia so strong in the Master League.
