Netflix has recently added Parasyte: The Grey to its lineup. The series is so successful that it has landed directly at number 1 on the most-watched series list. This live-action series, based on a cult manga, even surpasses giants like 3 Body Problem.
How successful is the series? In the ranking on FlixPatrol, Parasyte: The Grey, which should not be confused with the successful film Parasite, holds the number 1 spot for the most-watched series. The live-action adaptation is at the top in many countries around the world. Especially in South and Central America, as well as in parts of Africa and Southeast Asia, Parasyte: The Grey is extremely successful.

Currently in Germany, Crooks is in first place, closely followed by Crime Scene Berlin: Nightlife Killer. Parasyte: The Grey is only in third place. However, due to its popularity around the world, it has made it to the top of the ranking.
And there’s a reason for that: So far, the series has received a recommendation of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an 83% approval rating from fans. However, the result is not yet representative, as only a few ratings have been submitted so far. On IMDb, the series holds a rating of 7.3/10 from 2,518 reviews.

In Parasyte, humanity is threatened by parasites
What is Parasyte: The Grey about? The live-action series is based on the manga Parasyte, which was published from 1988 to 1995. In it, alien spores land on Earth and infiltrate humans as parasites.
The manga creator Hitoshi Iwaaki explained to Netflix that the live-action series, with its six episodes, takes place in the same universe as the manga. However, the plot is somewhat different, as this time we follow the experiences from the perspective of Jeong Soo-In.
In both the original work and the series, the main character is infected by a parasite that is not out to kill its host at all. Rather, the two parties want to coexist. The protagonists must learn to live with the being in their body, leading to many conflicts.
There is also an anime called Parasyte -the maxim-. It is currently airing in Japanese with German subtitles on Crunchyroll. If you have a subscription, you can watch the anime there.
Another live adaptation available on Netflix is One Piece. The series is based on the eponymous manga. Although a second season is already in production, the final ending would not be a problem for the actress playing Nami:
