The answer: The knife has various abilities that make it incredibly dangerous.
- The upgrade “Damage Amp Payload” ensures that hit targets take 15% more damage for 5 seconds.
- The “Penetrator Augment” ensures that all damage dealt to the target is critical hits for 5 seconds.
- Additionally, there’s a 24% chance for critical damage.
- And Jakobs grenades (that is, the throwing knives) deal critical damage on weak point hits.
In short: A lot of critical damage is being dealt here. Especially, the “Penetrator Augment” ensures that other damage also becomes critical. The most impressive example that utilizes this effect is currently possibly the strongest build in the game: Vex, the Siren, can take down bosses in mere seconds.
