A huge raid week is starting soon in Pokémon GO! During this event, you have the chance to get a new Shiny. The event also features 2 highlights waiting for you.
This is what the event is about: The event lasts a whole week and revolves around raids. You’ll not only battle against special raid bosses, but also a three-hour raid day is returning. Additionally, there will be a raid hour again.
When does the event start? Next Tuesday, May 21, it kicks off. The event starts at 22:00 in Germany and runs exactly one week until May 28.
Raid Week in Pokémon GO – The Bonuses
This is what you can expect throughout the week: New raid bosses will come your way during the week. Additionally, there are more bonuses:
- Double raid experience points
- Double raid stardust
- Shiny Bronzor will be available
- 2 free raid passes each day
There may be quests: In line with this event, the dataminer Chrales has discovered special raid quests. These could be unlocked at the start of the event.

Raid Day with Shiny Lapras
This is what you’ll find in the event: In the middle of the event, a three-hour raid day featuring Lapras will start! Last time, we had a similar event in November 2018 with Gengar.
There are several bonuses awaiting you in the event. Here’s an overview:
- 5 free raid passes are available during the event
- Every gym not hosting an EX Raid that week will have a Lapras raid during the 3 hours
- Lapras will learn the moves Ice Shard and Ice Beam during the event
- Shiny Lapras can be found in the raids
When does the event run? On Saturday, May 25, at 11 a.m. local time, the raid day begins. It will last for 3 hours until 2 p.m.
Raid Hour for the Evening
When does the event start? Another small event kicks off next Wednesday, May 22. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, there will be another raid hour.
What does the raid hour bring? This time, it’s not just about a legendary Pokémon, but about all raids. So the number of raids will significantly increase during this hour. However, it doesn’t matter what level the raid is.
