The anime MMORPG Blue Protocol: Star Resonance has announced its release in the West, and we provide you with all the information about the launch.
When will Blue Protocol: Star Resonance launch? After a successful beta that ran from the end of August to early September, the developers of the anime MMORPG have announced their release. Blue Protocol: Star Resonance will launch on October 9, 2025, on Steam, Epic Games, and Mobile.
The game has previously been released in China and Japan. The two countries will not participate in the global release but have their own version. Therefore, they will not play on the global game servers.

8 Classes for Every Purpose
What classes are available? Unlike previous releases, all 8 classes are available right from the global launch. This includes 2 tanks, 2 healers, 2 melee DPS, and 2 ranged DPS:
- Heavy Guardian – Tank
- Shield Knight – Tank
- Beat Performer / Soul Musician – Healer
- Verdant Oracle – Healer
- Stormblade – Melee DPS
- Wind Knight – Melee DPS
- Frost Mage – Ranged DPS
- Marksman – Ranged DPS

Will Blue Protocol: Star Resonance also be on PS5?
The anime MMORPG Blue Protocol: Star Resonance will not be released for PS5. Players can only play the MMORPG via Steam, Epic Games, on iOS, and on Android.
In the beta version, there was also a dedicated launcher. It is possible that the developers will offer this as an alternative at launch.
How does the season system work?
In Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, there is a season system. Instead of expanding the MMORPG with large add-ons once a year, the developers focus on quarterly seasons. Each new season is expected to bring new content such as raids and dungeons.
A new season also offers the opportunity for returning players to rejoin and catch up with experienced players in terms of equipment and abilities. Additionally, each season features its own battle pass. It is not yet known how long the first season will last.
After the former Blue Protocol failed, Tencent secured the rights to the MMORPG. The new version, subtitled Star Resonance, emerged from the then-MMO. Virtually nothing remains from the original MMORPG. Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is now a classic theme park MMORPG for casual players.
