Season 6 of Diablo 4 kicks off in October and brings new content and new skills for all classes into the game. The expert “Rob2628” is already showcasing the powerful “Q-Tip” build with the new skill for barbarians.
- On the PTR for Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred, Blizzard recently tested the new features, items, and skills. There are also some changes affecting the base game.
- The changes coming to Diablo 4 in October include a new leveling system and new difficulty levels.

What kind of build is this? Rob2628, an expert on Diablo and particularly barbarians, tested the new features on the PTR that ran in early September. There, he built a powerful “Mighty Throw” build that deals substantial damage. He calls it the “Q-Tip Barbarian” because the thrown weapons look like cotton swabs.
With this build, the expert managed to complete the Pit on level 100 in under 10 minutes. In the YouTube video, damage numbers fly up to half a million.
Enormous damage with “Cotton Swabs”
How does the build work? Essentially, the build revolves around throwing “Q-Tips” and dealing enormous damage. The build relies on overpower damage and high attack speed.
The main skill of the build is the new weapon mastery skill “Mighty Throw,” which allows you to throw your weapon, causing 60% weapon damage on impact and sticking into the ground. While embedded in the ground, it deals 20% weapon damage every second for 4 seconds:
- You spam the Mighty Throw skill and throw “Q-Tips.”
- For your ultimate, you use Ancestors’ Call.
- Regarding item affixes, you focus on resource regeneration, critical hit chance, overpower damage, and attack speed.
- The aspects on the items build on the skill and allow Mighty Throw to deal even more damage.
- Hardening the items gives you a chance to cast Mighty Throw twice. You also focus on overpower damage and cooldown reduction for the ultimate.
- As runes, the expert recommends Zec and Ohm. Zec reduces the cooldown of your ultimate, and Ohm increases your movement speed and the damage you deal. Here you can find an overview of all runes coming with Vessel of Hatred.
- Not necessary, but very helpful is the coveted Harlequin’s Crown (“Shako”), which gives you +4 ranks to all skills.
Rob emphasizes that this is neither a bugged nor a “broken” build. Therefore, it is not expected to be nerfed significantly – unlike the crazy “Frog Build” of the barbarian in Season 4.

These skills are used by the build:
- Mighty Throw: Throws your weapon, which causes 60% weapon damage on impact and sticks into the ground. While embedded, your weapon pulses, dealing 20% weapon damage every second for 4 seconds.
- Battle Cry: Let out a battle cry that increases your movement speed by 50% and your resource generation by 30% for 6 seconds. Movement speed and resource generation of nearby allies is increased for 3 seconds.
- Ancestors’ Call: Summons 3 ancestors that support you in battle for 6 seconds.
- Hammer of Ancestors: Slams your hammer down with the wrath of the ancestors, causing X damage in a concentrated area.
- Charge: Becomes unstoppable and charges forward, colliding with enemies and then dealing a blow for 25% damage and knocking them back.
- Steel Grip: Throws three chains that deal X damage and pull enemies in.
In October, fans of Diablo 4 can expect not only changes to the base game but also a ton of new content. With “Vessel of Hatred,” rune words are coming into play that could play a role in many builds. Additionally, the Spiritborn, the first new class in Diablo 4, is coming in.
