Rank 4: Quirinus Quirrell
- School year: 1
The stuttering Professor Quirrell was Harry’s first teacher for “Defense Against the Dark Arts.” Although he could initially seem extremely shy and jumpy, he ultimately turned out to be a great danger. Because he housed none other than Lord Voldemort on the back of his head.
Aside from that, he was an average to boring teacher. As a former Ravenclaw, he was not fundamentally stupid and had a solid knowledge base, but he was not particularly skilled in practice. This, combined with his shy nature, certainly did not make his lessons appealing to young students.
Since Quirrell was constantly controlled by Voldemort, that may have been intentional. After all, it was in Voldemort’s interest for the students – particularly Harry – to be poorly trained in Defense Against the Dark Arts.
At least Quirrell did not actively harm the students through his lessons. Therefore, he ends up in fourth place in this ranking, which speaks more against his competition than for Quirrell.
