In Elite Dangerous, the war with the alien Thargoids has broken out. However, not all players want to fight; some prefer to communicate.
Currently, it is not possible to make contact with the Thargoids in Elite Dangerous. According to the background story, humans started firing despite the initial willingness for peace on the players’ side at the beginning of the conflict. The thought of peaceful coexistence still exists, which is why not all Commanders are participating in the war.
Communication with the aliens would be possible
The player Benjamin “Heisenberg6626” Bahr would like to communicate with the aliens. Since this is not possible in the game, he has invented his own method. The Thargoid ships emit sounds.
Heisenberg6626 analyzed these and managed to translate images into this language. Thus, communication would be fundamentally possible. However, there is no way to send these sounds back to the Thargoids. Therefore, he only “plays” this. The roleplay aspect is also well received in Elite Dangerous.
Perhaps conversations will happen someday
Heisenberg6626 created a video of his communication with the aliens, showing how a dialogue could proceed if it were possible in the game. Who knows, perhaps the developers will notice this interesting communication method and incorporate something like this into the game.
Then it would be possible to talk to the Thargoids and perhaps end the war someday. Because according to Heisenberg6626, it is never too late for negotiations, as conflicts on Earth – including the Cuban Missile Crisis – have shown.
The war with the Thargoids in Elite Dangerous constantly raises questions about whether such a conflict is really necessary.
