The DDOS attacks on the MMORPG Albion Online are really annoying the players. However, the developers have now announced compensation.
Albion Online has been suffering from DDOS attacks for a few days. As the developers explained, the DDOS attacks were apparently reactions to the measures taken against gold sellers. There was even a ransom demand. The attacks were supposed to continue until a certain amount, around €18,000, was paid.
The team behind Albion Online has decided not to pay the extortionists.

DDOS attacks continue but are not as severe
In the meantime, it seems that the worst is over. The attacks are still ongoing, but the effects are not as drastic as at the beginning. It is at least better possible to log in and also to play.
Nevertheless, the developers advise all players to be cautious in-game as there may still be connection interruptions. The fans of the MMORPG have been the ones suffering in this whole situation as they could not or barely play.
There are compensations!
Therefore, the development team has now announced compensation for the DDOS attacks. Anyone who had trouble playing Albion Online due to the DDOS attacks between July 17 and August 11 will receive one week of playtime credited to their account. This week is in addition to the free week that players receive due to launch issues.
Meanwhile, the team continues to work on fully controlling the situation. They are already developing appropriate measures with experts to further contain the DDOS attacks. There is currently no date for when these measures will go live.
Recent measures have already achieved successes. The servers held up. The game’s performance is still suffering from the attacks and there are still connection interruptions; however, the situation has improved and is expected to improve further shortly.
