Albion Online: Cador-Update bringt interessante Neuerungen ins Spiel

The sandbox MMORPG Albion Online is currently in beta but will be released in the third quarter of this year. 

The developers are using the time before the game’s release to test many game systems, gather feedback, and implement new systems. They are currently working on a major update called “Cador.” In an initial video blog, the developers discuss this upcoming update and the player numbers of the beta version.

While instances for the dungeons have already been introduced, designed to provide players with a truly exciting gaming experience, with Cador, further innovations for the dungeons will come. Larger dungeons are intended to be less frustrating when one stays in them for a longer time. Equipment in the game wears down and could not be repaired in dungeons until now, but this will change with Cador. This way, everyone can enjoy the best possible experience in the dungeons without worrying about having to bring spare weapons.

The new death mechanism in the game

Additionally, the death mechanism in the game will be revised.  A knockdown will be introduced. This means that if you are defeated in both PvP and PvE, you will initially fall to the ground. Your enemy then has the opportunity to kill you. As long as you are just lying on the ground, your allies can try to rescue you by jumping in to prevent the fatal blow.

The developers are currently not thinking about the player numbers of the beta version of Albion Online. These are currently very stable and are completely sufficient. It is assumed that after the next wipe, more players will be gained. But the wipe will be a while coming.
