In the Free2Play MMO RPG Aion , a major update has been released in Korea with Patch 5.0, adding 10 new levels and much more.
Patch 5.0 is here in Korea, and the Aion community has been waiting for it for months. The level cap is raised to 75. At level 65, players can undergo a “transformation” to High Daevas through quests. Completing a certain quest line at level 65 automatically grants level 66 and the new form. This form also allows for power flight.
In this new form, fresh paths of progress will also open up for them. With “Creativity”, players can invest their points into various attributes, allowing the Daevas to significantly differentiate from one another. They can also commit to an element and learn transformation skills. There are also items exclusive to them.
In the meantime, the level cap may even go higher, as NCSoft seems to have listened to the community’s feedback.
Additionally, two new regions (Astera and North Fold) and three instances (Library of Knowledge, Ruins of Evil Spirit, Elemental Lord’s Laboratory) have been added to the game.
Initial impressions are quite positive, as a lot has been drawn from this somewhat aged game, especially regarding graphics and music. The character creation has also been revised and expanded. There are 15 new hairstyles, and numerous facial and body features such as eyebrow length, pupil color, or calf muscles can be customized in detail.
It will likely take a while until all of this appears here in the West.
