According to Amazon spokesperson Brittney Hefner, this is not the case. In a statement to The Verge, she says: “We will continue to support Throne and Liberty and Lost Ark with regular updates and community engagement.”
The background is likely that Amazon Games Studios has little effort invested in Throne and Liberty and Lost Ark because the content is all sourced from developers in Asia. This saves expensive developers and acts merely as a link between players and developers.
What’s coming in 2026? The developers of Lost Ark have released a new blog post stating that they plan to present their new roadmap for the year 2026 in December. Until then, they will still roll out additional content updates and Act 4 for the MMORPG.
Players can also expect a year full of updates in 2026 for Throne and Liberty. Recently, the developers announced the next area expansion, which is to be presented soon. This is expected to be quite large and will bring a unique climate to the MMORPG.
The future of Throne and Liberty and Lost Ark is thus secured for the time being. Even if Amazon were to withdraw completely at some point, the titles could continue to operate with a new publisher.
