Thousands of players are disappointed in Pokémon GO. A mysterious countdown around Team Rocket ignited excitement among many fans, but a disappointing ending ruined the mood.
What happened? Team Rocket invaded Pokémon GO and is lurking at PokéStops for you. In recent days, it got even hotter around the villains, because real Rocket Grunts in New York and especially a strange countdown on YouTube led many trainers to think of something big.
People wondered what would happen after the countdown ended and started crafting wild theories. In the end, however, most players were likely disappointed, as it turned out to be not as big as hoped.
The countdown ends and the stream shuts down
What happened after the countdown ended? Over 20,000 people watched the livestream at 6:00 AM German time when the countdown ran out.
Then the stream went black for a moment and many players thought: “It’s about to happen!” and then the stream simply ended. No message or text, just the end of the livestream.
This is what happened on Twitter: On social media, Team Rocket was a bit more active. They took over the Pokémon GO Twitter account and repeatedly posted small messages.
This event is now starting: On Twitter, Team Rocket also noted that today at 4:00 PM, they would raid every PokéStop for one hour. You will find Team Rocket everywhere until 5:00 PM.
Additionally, the grunts appear in photobombs. As a reward, you will receive a Meowth instead of a Farfetch’d.
