Bethesda has released new information about the upcoming update for Fallout 76. Apparently, not only will many bugs be fixed, but also player feedback will be taken into account. Events will receive a major overhaul: they should become significantly better.
How events are being improved: In a new “Inside the Vault”, Bethesda provided insight into the development of the upcoming Update 13. In this patch, some of the events on the map will be transformed into “public events”.
Public events differ from “normal” events and make them significantly more enjoyable for players who want to participate. If you select a public event on the map, you will receive the following information:
- How many players are participating in the event?
- How long has it been running?
- How difficult is the event?
- What kind of event is it? For example: boss fight, defense, etc.
Additionally, fast travel to a public event will be free. This is to prevent players from spending caps only to arrive at an event that has ended during their travel or is on the verge of failing.
Moreover, the rule is: If you die during a public event, you will no longer lose scrap. Instead, the respawn time for each subsequent death will increase by 20 seconds.

Why the changes? Events were described at the launch of Fallout 76 as a key source for the best loot. Many players were particularly frustrated at the beginning when they arrived at events and could no longer get anything.

What else is changing with Patch 13?

The entire update is intended to fix more bugs rather than introduce new features. It is set to release on Tuesday, September 10.
