In Path of Exile 2 a player found the rarest item and immediately sold it again. For the item, he even gave up his good ranking.
Who is it about? The Reddit user XanAteA shared his success with the community. He had just gotten up and was playing some Path of Exile 2 while enjoying his morning coffee. It was already the 18th or 19th day after the league start, he says.
He had leveled his character as a solo player in the “Solo-Self-Found” league. This means he can only find his items and cannot join any groups with others. Moreover, trading with other players is prohibited.
In Path of Exile 2 and its predecessor, the professional has reportedly spent a total of 6,000 play hours. Accordingly, he casually completed some maps in the morning to improve his character. He hoped for good drops – and he would get them.
Here you can see the trailer for the current season of Path of Exile 2:
An item that changes everything
What did the player get? The player took down a group of enemies and suddenly among all the drops lay the Mirror of Kalandra. The rarest and most valuable currency item in Path of Exile 2. So rare that the player had never seen the loot piece drop in 6,000 play hours.
The mirror is the most valuable and rarest currency item in the game because its effect is so powerful. With it, almost any item in the game can be doubled. Thus, one can create a copy of the best weapon in the game and thereby double its worth.
In Path of Exile 2, the Mirror of Kalandra is even rarer than in the predecessor because there are no mirror fragments to farm a Mirror of Kalandra gradually.
What did the player do with the item? For the player, the plan changed now. First, he waved goodbye to his top ranking in the “Solo-Self-Found” league. At that point, he claimed he was ranked 10th or 11th. He migrated his character to the “normal” league, in which he is then allowed to trade the mirror.
By migrating his character to another league, he loses his place in the ranking. Upon arriving in the new league, he immediately sold the mirror to the highest bidder and received 810 Divine Orbs in exchange. With the money, he then bought some of the best items in the game to equip his character.
His alter ego should now be strong enough to take down any boss in the game without problems. Reddit user Grunvagr instills hope in the player: Maybe now, with some luck, he might even find another mirror.
Finding a mirror in Path of Exile 2 is great luck, immediately leading to wealth for one’s character. The value of the mirror decreases quickly due to the new seasons, so one should either use it or sell it promptly, as the player did.
Many players have – some with even more play hours than the Reddit user – still not found a single Mirror of Kalandra to this day. If you want to try to find and use a specimen yourself, this guide will help you: Path of Exile 2: Find and use Mirror of Kalandra
