After 5 years of development in Early Access, the full version of the popular building game Satisfactory is now available on Steam and Epic. Additionally, the developers have confirmed that versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are already in the works.
What kind of game is this? In Satisfactory, you build your own factory on an alien planet from a first-person perspective. You collect materials alone or in co-op with up to three other players, which you can use to establish your first transport routes and production facilities.
Satisfactory was developed by Coffee Stain – the studio also behind Goat Simulator. It was first released in 2019 exclusively on the Epic Games Store, and a year later, the Early Access version was released on Steam.
On September 10, 2024, the full version of the building game will be released, which, according to the developers, has already sold over 6 million copies and is among the top 5 building games on Steam. The game already has a rating of 97 percent in Early Access there.

Revised Story and New Content
What’s new in Version 1.0? In a press release, the developers announced a “completely revised narrative”. You are part of the “Save The Day” program, for which you have to transport resources and alien artifacts from the planet via a space lift.
In the endgame, you can expect new alien technologies that will further optimize your factory. There are, for example, portals that allow you to cover large distances in no time and dimensional depots that help you manage your inventory more efficiently.
Along with gameplay innovations, the update also brings new customization options: You can now change the color and helmet of your space suit and give your tools new skins and amulets. Additionally, there are new decorative elements for your factory – including windows, fences, and different paint jobs.
When will Satisfactory be released for consoles? According to Coffee Stain, the respective versions are already in development, but there is no release timeframe yet.
In September 2024, another building game is also expected, but instead of hardcore resource management, it will be about relaxed castle building. You can find out more about it here: Over 1 Million players are waiting for a small building game on Steam – It’s finally coming in September
