In the new melee multiplayer “Absolver” (PC, PS4 – later: Xbox One), you engage in exciting battles using various martial arts skills. In the open beta, you can test the game.
Together with other players, you can showcase your virtual martial arts skills in the upcoming game “Absolver”. The game is being developed by the indie studio Sloclap, consisting of experienced developers, designers, and artists who previously worked at Ubisoft. The team’s first game is an online action game set in a fantasy world and focuses on melee combat. Soon, an open beta for Absolver will start, and you can sign up now.
What is Absolver?
Your story begins in the ruins of a fallen kingdom. Weakly, you remember a ceremony where you pledged your word to join the elite fighters called “Absolvers”. The task of these fighters is to maintain stability in the world. However, your path from prospect to Absolver is long and rocky.
In gripping battles, you will test your martial arts skills against other players. Each encounter with players is supposed to be different because you never know what your opponent is planning. Fights to the death are not uncommon. You can also ally with others, exchange weapons, or teach each other new attacks.
Teammates can help you in upcoming trials. In ritual combat arenas, you can compete either solo or as a team in ranked matches. In these fights, you must demonstrate concentration and skill to pass the tough trials.
Gameplay: The gameplay system is based on many combat tactics. You can choose from four different fighting stances that determine your position relative to the opponent. This allows for intense real-time melee combat, offering endless, fluid combos.
During your adventures, you will visit various martial arts schools where you can learn tactical moves and unique attacks. Decide on your fighting style, choose a weapon, and modify the attack set in the combat deck. This allows you to fight in your own unique style. Open Beta of Absolver – Registration
Just last month, there were closed alpha tests with community members. The goal was to stress test the servers. If you found interest in Absolver through the game description and the shown gameplay scenes, you can now look forward to the open beta.
On the official website of Sloclap, the developers announced an open beta phase. You can register on the website. Although the title says “Closed Beta”, the developers explicitly mention in the announcement an “open beta phase”. Here is the link to register for the Absolver Beta on Sloclap.com
Absolver is set to be released first for PS4 and PC. For Xbox One, it is planned for “later”. Currently, we do not know which platforms the beta registration will run on.
