A YouTuber ordered a Bugatti on a Chinese platform. For only $30,000, it sounds almost like a bargain. However, things did not go well for the YouTuber.
Carter Sharer is a YouTuber with about 11 million subscribers. His videos regularly reach around 1 million viewers. In a new video, the YouTuber has now ordered a Bugatti on the Chinese platform Alibaba, which he refers to as Temu. However, things did not exactly end well for the YouTuber.
Platforms like Temu, Wish, and Alibaba have faced criticism for some time. For example, Temu is criticized for the poor quality and safety of toys (via Nachrichten.at) and is accused of tricking customs. This is reported by Tagesschau. Temu, Wish, and others have long been considered a derogatory term among users. If something looks like it was “ordered from Wish”, it is not a compliment.
YouTuber orders Bugatti for $30,000, already doubts the great deal at purchase
What exactly did he buy? Carter Sharer ordered a Bugatti on Alibaba, a Chinese platform for $30,000.
The model was offered for $30,000 on Alibaba, the predecessor of the very popular Temu. The ad described the car as “carefully used,” a detail that was sufficient for the YouTuber.
However, the YouTuber already doubted the offer at the time of purchase. Sharer stated himself that the price was officially far too low: Even severely damaged accident vehicles of the type Bugatti have never been sold for significantly less than $300,000, and he shows several examples of this in his video.

What exactly did he receive? After removing the packaging, he had to find out that he had not received a real Bugatti: The crate instead contained a hollow replica made entirely of foam. Inside, there was neither an engine nor any mechanics. Not even a door, with which he could have gotten inside.
