No-Hit Runs, which are playthroughs where you don’t get hit, have long been among the common challenges among ambitious players. A YouTuber has now done the opposite in Clair Obscur.
What did the YouTuber do? The YouTuber ymfah has set himself the task of completing unusual challenges in various games, such as Elden Ring without running or playing Dark Souls 3 as a pacifist. His latest challenge in the RPG hit Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is also one of a special kind.
Instead of a typical “No-Hit Run”, where players try to complete an entire playthrough without getting hit, he played a so-called “All-Hit Run”. And he did so on the highest difficulty level. He completed all the fights that came his way without dodging or parrying in any way, which are basic mechanics of combat in Clair Obscur.
How he did this is explained in his YouTube video.
How did the YouTuber do it? As ymfah explains at the beginning of the video, parrying enemy attacks grants your characters Action Points (AP), which can then be used for powerful abilities. By not parrying, he collects fewer AP and can use stronger attacks less frequently.
Nevertheless, ymfah managed to win the “All Hit” run, similar to a regular playthrough, thanks to clever use of the Pictos and Lumina systems, combining their stat improvements and passive bonuses wisely. He was particularly successful in enhancing free-target attacks and stacking damage multipliers to significantly increase total damage.
He also admittedly used some well-known tricks, such as skipping Évêque to level up extensively beforehand and then defeating him. Still, it is an impressive feat to accomplish this on the highest difficulty level and willingly take on every incoming damage.
In his video, he also shares various strategies for different fights and builds, in case you want to try his challenge yourself.
