The old races in World of Warcraft are soon to become obsolete. At least, that’s what one might think when seeing what the Haranir have to offer.
One of the new features of World of Warcraft Midnight is a new allied race. The Haranir join both the Horde and the Alliance after receiving little attention in The War Within. Yet, even if some may not like the aesthetics of this race at first glance, the variety seems unmatched.
A player is now showing just how versatile the Haranir can be and why their customization options easily outshine those of all other races.
What’s going on with the Haranir? The Haranir have a huge range of customization options; even the Dracthyr with their visage forms pale in comparison. Just how extensive this truly is, is shown by the player Firewindwaterearth in the WoW subreddit. There, he compares the options of the Haranir with those of other races. Better yet – he simply recreates the other races with the Haranir! But see for yourselves:
What does the community wish for? The reactions from the community are mixed. Some are excited about what is possible with the Haranir. The diverse selection of options and customizations allows significantly more freedom than with all other races in World of Warcraft.
But exactly this gnaws at another part of the player base – as many believe that Blizzard urgently needs to improve the existing races. Many of the “old” races have only a handful of options in numerous categories:
- “The customization options of the Haranir are completely insane and that is great, but it’s just a sad comparison with the minimal options offered to the core races (and some allied races). So much so that you can almost [replace the other races with the Haranir]. They effectively replace Night Elves, Trolls, and even Void Elves.” – LinkedGaming
- “This is fantastic. But it’s also kind of funny and so random that the ‘underground bat people’ are so flexible.” – DrainTheMuck
- “Man, it’s kind of ridiculous that they have such good customization options that they can just cosplay half of all the other races.” – Belucard
If it’s purely about visual diversity, many might be considering starting a Haranir character in Midnight – or subjecting their current main to a little race change. How will you handle this?
With the Haranir, you can also move into your new homes – unless you get reported by other players.
