One month after the most well-known leaker stopped, the action RPG is once again struggling with numerous leaks.
Which leaker stopped? On December 13, 2022, the leak account UBatcha, known in the Genshin Impact community, announced that he was stopping posting leaks. He also deleted all content:
- The reason for the decision was a warning he received via Discord.
- Furthermore, he explained in a statement on Twitter that the developers of Genshin Impact (HoYoverse) have initiated a “DMCA subpoena” – a court order to obtain evidence for a lawsuit regarding copyright infringement.
The purpose of such an order is to compel a person or institution to disclose information that is relevant for further legal action. For example, Discord would have to provide data such as the name or email address of the leaker.
Genshin leaks flood Twitter and Reddit
What is the current situation? Just at the beginning of January, a major livestream of Genshin Impact took place with the content of the upcoming update 3.4. However, the Genshin community is not satisfied with the official information. And so, nearly a month after UBatcha’s resignation, numerous leaks reemerged.
In the subreddit “Genshin_Impact-Leaks”, various pieces of information are circulating. From character information and kit descriptions to images. Anyone who wants to get a first unofficial look at upcoming content will find it there.

The resignation of the leaker UBatcha apparently brought no improvement for Genshin Impact and HoYoverse’s fight against leaks continues. Whether anything will ever change in the situation remains to be seen.
