The manufacturer CoolerMaster has introduced a special gaming PC. The device looks like a futuristic shark. CoolerMaster asks for around 7,000 euros for the device, but what is actually inside it?
With the Shark X, CoolerMaster is selling a unique gaming PC. And the special thing is definitely not the hardware used, but the appearance of the case. The manufacturer itself states on its website:

Mid-range hardware in a unique case
The following hardware is installed in the gaming PC:
- Intel Core i7 14700F CPU
- GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super
- 64 GB DDR5 RAM
- 2 TB, M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe
With the Core i7-14700K, you get a current CPU from Intel, which is considered by testers to be an almost perfect all-rounder if you want to both game and work. With the RTX 4070 Ti Super, you also get a fast mid-range GPU that is very suitable for WQHD and, thanks to the large video memory, can also handle ray tracing without any problems.
Is the high price worth it? In principle, you should be aware that you are not only paying for the pure hardware and assembly here, as you would with a gaming PC you can order from a specialist retailer. Because for a gaming PC with similar specifications, you currently pay more like between 2,000 and 2,500 euros.
Since it is a collector’s item and the development of the computer is significantly more complex than that of a normal gaming PC, the price is much higher. Other manufacturers also charge a lot of money for merchandise products, if they don’t allow themselves egregious typos on their hardware.
The case comes from a well-known case modder
Where did the idea come from? MeinMMO already reported on the shark PC that a modder presented at the time. The modder Inony comes from Thailand and built the PC that looks like a shark for the Case Mod World Series 2019. It involved a lot of work:
- In total, he spent over 800 hours building the PC.
- All components for the case are made using a 3D printer
- For the material, he uses PETG, a thermoplastic. Most of you might know PETG in the form of PET bottles.
- In total, Inony produced over 400 parts, each individual piece had to be hand-sanded with a small hand sander.
