A trainer in Pokémon GO used a rare Lure Module. He got an unexpected visitor.
What is a Lure Module? A Lure Module is an item that you can use at a PokéStop to attract more Pokémon for a period of time. There are different types of Lure Modules in Pokémon GO, each attracting different monsters.
One of the most sought-after Lure Modules is the Golden Lure Module, which allows you to receive Gierspenst and Gierspenst Coins, among other things. This very Lure Module was used by a trainer. But instead of attracting Gierspenst, he attracted the police.
Nervous Neighbors and an Innocent Trainer
Why did the police come? As the trainer reported in his post on Reddit, the trainer sat in an empty parking lot because he had access to 4 PokéStops and a Gym from there. A combination that is interesting for trainers and can provide many items and Pokémon without having to move much.
He used a Golden Lure Module to snag some Gierspenst Coins. After a while, a police officer showed up and started asking him questions. The trainer answered and explained to the officer that he was playing Pokémon GO.
After the officer explained to the trainer that neighbors had seen him sitting in the parking lot, got nervous, and called the police, the officer said goodbye, and the trainer was able to continue catching Pokémon, collecting items, and snagging Gierspenst Coins. As the trainer notes, he managed to collect 650 coins.
What does the community say about it? Under the post, several comments from trainers who have experienced similar stories can be found. Some of them are:
- “My husband and I are in our 60s and parked in a church parking lot right by the entrance to the street. A policewoman showed up and questioned us. A resident across the street had called and reported two “suspicious” individuals taking pictures of their house. We laughed and showed her our screens. She laughed and said: “Pokémon GO!” and mentioned that one of the other police officers in the city plays. She said we could stay and wished us luck,” writes PNW_RuralGirl
- “My wife and I have been stopped by the police here several times, almost always when we were sitting in a parking lot or driving in a park. Each time we turned our screens to them, and they said: “Ohh, Pokémon GO!” Then they let us be,” comments GeordieAI
- “At first (when they were still rare and occasionally spawned in the wild), someone in the chat said there was an Unown at a pharmacy, and the poor cashier triggered the alarm when about 60 cars drove up at 11:30 PM,” remembers BigWeesel
